Built in 1818, Upton House has witnessed almost two centuries of family life, dedicated service, and countless stories. As darkness falls, join us for a special guided tour and experience the House in a whole new light... or perhaps, a little less of it.
Be guided through the elegant ground-floor rooms and descend into the atmospheric male servants' quarters below stairs. Along the way, discover intriguing tales of the families who called Upton House home and the staff who kept it running. You may even find yourself wondering whether some former residents and servants ever truly left...
Hear fascinating stories, including new discoveries uncovered by our research volunteers through the Discovery Project, as history and mystery come together for an evening of educational entertainment.
Recommended for ages 12+. While the tour is delightfully spooky, it is designed to be fun and atmospheric rather than a fright-night experience.
Important information: Due to limited numbers in the basement area, all children require a ticket. Babes in arms do not require a ticket. Children must be always accompanied by an adult.
